Mon, May 11 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
In class, I played around with various mechanisms to create a plane through the base leaves (so they could be split in two components).

Week 7
Thu, May 7 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I put the final cylinders in and attached both base parts. I also worked on splitting the leaves to print them out in two componens.
Thu, May 7 HW – Image and description of completed homework

Tue, May 5 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I fixed my stoppers so they had an inside diameter of 3/8 of an inch. Once those were printed, I redid my cylinders.

Week 6
Fri, May 1 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
Both of my base stand components printed out and I created cylinders to attach them.
Fri, May 1 HW – Image and description of completed homework
No hw
Wed, Apr 29 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
During class, I 3d printed my flower shades (x2) and split the base/stand in two (using the offset plane and split face commands) to also 3d print.
Wed, Apr 29 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I extruded a component of the backside of the flower for the bulb to attach to. Then, with the scale command, I made sure that the bulb will fit in the flower without coming out. In class, I can print this new file.
Mon, Apr 27 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I finished the bloom at the bottom of my stand. I began to 3D print the flower, but I then realized I needed to make the size a bit bigger (1.1 using the scale tool). I also have to move the light bulb forward to ensure it will fit.

Week 5
Fri, Apr 24 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I finished my lamp design with by joining both of my flowers, stoppers, and light bulbs with the stand.
Fri, Apr 24 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I started worked on the other flower.
Wed, Apr 22 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

Once adding two planes to the left hand side, I used the loft command to create the outline of my flower. Then, I used the shell command on the larger face (0.1”) and extruded a hole on the lower face to create a hollow shape for the bulb.
Wed, Apr 22 HW – Image and description of completed homework

Mon, Apr 20 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I finished the other stand of my lamp using the spline and pipe commands.
Mon, Apr 20 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I continued to work on my lamp design.
Week 4
Thur, Apr 16 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I finished modeling the light bulb and continued worked on the right side curve stand for my lamp.
Thur, Apr 16 HW – Image and description of completed homework
No HW
Tue, Apr 14 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I created my base for the lamp. Then, I made a centerline, points on the first curve, the spline tool to connect them, and then the pipe tool to create the final curve.
Tue, Apr 14 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I worked on more details for my design sketch.
Week 3
Sat, Apr 11 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I began to take measurements/draw my design on the large piece of brown paper.
Sat, Apr 11 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I made some sketches for possible lamp designs.
Tues, Apr 9 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I finished my phone holder design by combining the two sections (1: middle knob + back hinge) and the other (2: front knob + pin + phone holder components). Then, I used a revolute joint and pinned certain pieces to allow rotation.
Thu, Apr 9 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I changed the extrusion components so that the pin could fully rotate 90 degrees.
Tues, Apr 7 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I worked on the bolt that would go through the screw on my knobs (created a new sketch + extruded to object + projected).
Tue, Apr 7 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I worked on the screw mechanism to only allow the bolt to travel one way horizontally so the bottom ledges can support my phone.
Week 2
Fri, Apr 3 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I made smaller adjustments to the model like adjusting the thickness of each of my pieces so they would match up. I also put in the correct version/orientation of my phone (rigid joined all of its individual parts) onto my design to look at scale.
Fri, Apr 3 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I made the knob connecting the screw on the outside to the phone holder a cylinder rather than a rectangle to maximize surface area.
Wed, Apr 1 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
I worked on refining my design (using the midplane feature to create the side holders for my phone). I also adjusted the height of the vertical plate to make sure the phone screw would be high enough.
Wed, Apr 1 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I added in the knob/platform to hold my phone. I have to finish adjusting the clamps on the side and make the vertical side of the hinge longer.
Mon, Mar 30 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class, I finished designing my hinge mechanism. It has a bottom and vertical plate connected by a hinge (the middle has a revolute joint for adjustable viewing angles).
Mon, Mar 30 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework I worked on three possible designs for my phone holder.
Week 1
Fri, Mar 27 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class I extruded my cameras and worked on refining the buttons at the bottom.
Fri, Mar 27 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I added continued to refine components on the back of my phone (rounding the edged of the card holder) and will add in other minor details like charging ports at the bottom.
Wed, Mar 25 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
In class today, I worked on finishing the camera of my phone. I used the offset tool for the 2 outer frames and measured the diameters of the circles/distances to the edges from the center to position them accurately.
Wed, Mar 25 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I created the body of my phone with the width/height on the front face of my file. Then I filleted the edges to 0.5 inches (have to confirm) and extruded the sketch. After, I created new components with sketches for the volume buttons on one side and the third button in another component. After setting the dimensions for those (filleted 0.03 inches (also have to confirm)), I extruded. Next, I will work on the cameras/plastic holder on the back face.
