I worked on assembling my LED Lamp with screws, metal rods, and the light strip.
Fri, Feb 20 HW – Image and description of completed homework

When I had opened an app for class, it exited out of adobe. My work did not save, so I had to restart the pencil box imaged. I generated new images and began editing the contrast of the 1st panel.
Wed, Feb 18 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
In class I sanded my desk top organizer parts and re-printed my small triangles so that they would fit with my back side.
Wed, Feb 18HW – Image and description of completed homework

I kept on working on adjusting the contrast of my image on the second panel which I plan to print next class. Above is a picture of the panel that I had printed out after making adjustments earlier.
Mon, Feb 16 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I continued to edit the contrast in my images and at the end of class, I began to print on one my panels with the edited artwork.
Mon, Feb 16 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework I continued working on editing the colors in my image to make it more high contrast.
Week 9
Thu, Feb 12 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

I printed out my design twice to test the engraver. I then used these panels as references for what to adjust in my artwork layer.
Thu, Feb 12 – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, I used the gen shape fill command to create grayscale/high-contrast images for each of my panels which align with a spring theme.
Tue, Feb 10 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
In class I worked on using the adobe illustrator. I attempted making an image continue across two face, however, I decided on just keep one image per panel.
Tue, Feb 10 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, I created new sketches for the front side and left side. Then, after projecting the whole body, I uploaded the DXF files into my tech design folder. I used the file –> open command in adobe illustrator (ensuring the ratio is 1:1 in inches) to upload my pieces. Then, I copy/pasted so that both components would be in the same file.
Week 8
Sat, Feb 7 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class I finished my box. I used the front side sketch to extrude the corresponding parts for the left side. Then I used the copy/past new command for creating the back side/right side. After, I created a new component for the bottom. Finally, I joined everything together.
Sat, Feb 7 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I had completed what was needed for homework in class.
Thu, Feb 5 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

For homework, I updated fusion as shown in the notifications pop-out. I then followed the video to make sure my document settings were in hybrid mode and made that my default mode under my account preferences.
Thu, Feb 5 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I completed everything needed for homework in class.
Week 7
Thu, Jan 29 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

During class, I fixed some of the joints that I had missed adding on the bottom. For this, I used the project and extrude functions. Then, I was able to print out all of the parts of my desktop organizer.
Thu, Jan 29 HW – Image and description of completed homework
I had completed what needed to be done for homework in class.
Tue, Jan 27 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class I made 2 more copies of the small triangle and set the distances using the join command. After, I combined all of these components with the bottom/back side. Then, for each component, I created a sketch with projections. Next time, I will use the DXF files that I saved to my folder to print.
Tue, Jan 27 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, I tried to create the first of my small triangle dividers. I used the left side sketch to extrude the middle face and side/bottom joints 0.125 (the thickness of the wood). I then made this a new component and used the move command to place it in between the left side/large triangle. Next, I will set the appropriate distances, make copies, and join the pieces.
Week 6
Fri, Jan 23 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

Today I was able to finish the back vertical, the large right triangle, and the second back. Next time, I will continue working on the smaller triangle dividers based on these components.
Fri, Jan 23 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I began to create my back vertical after completing the bottom component. However, when I tried to extrude the cutouts to the other side of the vertical piece, the small gray square on the left side could not be selected on its own. On the right side, I was able to select just that section. I tried to look into previous sketches that might be causing this but I couldn’t find anything to change.
But this is my full organizer so far (I will finish the back vertical and continue moving forward next class):

Wed, Jan 21 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

This class, I edited my right side sketch to make sure it was accurate. Then, I created the front side using lines, distances, and the offset tool. After I had finished the sketch in orthographic view, I made sure it was correctly placed in the 3d view before extruding to the thickness of the material. After, I created the back side and made the necessary joints.
Wed, Jan 21 HW – Image and description of completed homework

I extruded the left side to the thickness of the wood (0.125 inches). Then I copied it and used the “paste new” command in the “desk top organizer” workspace to create the right side. Finally, I used the joint command with an offset on the x-axis of 9.5625 inches to connect the ends of the slant (at the blue/white join icon).
Week 5
Sat, Jan 17 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class today, I made the left side of my desktop organizer. By creating a sketch in the left side component, I was able to draw several lines and set distances to create the necessary parameters.
Sat, Jan 17 HW – Image and description of completed homework
No homework, will begin the desk organizer construction
Thu, Jan 15 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

Today I printed out my base plate and base verticals. Then, I glued metal plates onto my base verticals, glued my lower arm together, and touched up my upper arm. Once joining the base plate with my rest of my LED Lamp, I began to look at creating my desktop organizer project.
Thu, Jan 15 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, I finished working on my base modeling. I used tools like extrude, project, and creating new components to choose specific planes I needed to add to. Next, I will join the base and my lamp/print the base plate/base verticals.
Tue, Jan 13 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

During class today, I fixed the position of my large metal plates/base verticals by using the flip key on the join menu. Then after combining the base plate, cutting, and projecting the holes, I saved the DXF files to print next time. Finally, I worked on creating my base with circles, projections, extruding, and offsetting.
Tue, Jan 13 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, before moving on, I tried to fix the placement of my large metal plates/base verticals on my lower arm. I know that they have to go on the outside part, however, the join command only lets me attach one base plate properly (on the other side, the 4 circles also appear as cutouts instead of the metal piece being on top). Also, when I try to join the vertical, part of the circle appears on the front. I looked up the issue online since we did not get a chance to talk, but I couldn’t find anything, so I will try to fix this again during class.
Week 4
Fri, Jan 9 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

In class I printed out the lower arm. After sanding its parts and attaching magnets to its bottom faces, I assembled my horizontal upper arm with its sides. Finally, I began adding the larger base plate.
Fri, Jan 9 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework, I completed the base plate and the base verts.
Wed, Jan 7 CW – Image and description of completed classwork
Today, I uploaded my lower arm side and horizontal projection piece to Rhino 7. After having completed the steps to format it correctly, I will be able to print it out next class. I also began to work on base plates.
Wed, Jan 7 HW – Image and description of completed homework
For homework due on the 7th, I had completed everything for classwork.
Winter Break 12/19/25 – 1/5/26
Week 3
Tues, Dec 18 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

Today in class I finished cutting out my circles and rectangles to complete the lower horizontal arm. After, I created a new sketch with the needed projections and exported it to a folder as a DXF for future laser printing.
Thu, Dec 18 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework due on 12/18, I extruded my lower arm horizontal and began adding the circular/rectangular cutouts to the figure.
Tues, Dec 16 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

For classwork, I worked on continuing to build my lower arm horizontal. Additionally, I sanded down each part of my upper arm, put in magnets, and filled in epoxy.
Tue, Dec 16 HW – Image and description of completed homework
For homework due on 12/16, I had completed this for classwork on 12/12. The pictures of what I had worked on are attached in that section below.
Week 2
Fri, Dec 12 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

This class I completed the homework assigned for 12/16 by adding the metal plates to arms and connecting the all of the upper/lower arms. I was also able to laser cut out my upper arm.
Fri, Dec 12 HW – Image and description of completed homework

Tonight for homework, I created one side of the lower arm. After cutting implementing the rectangular patterns and making the correctly sized cutouts, I proceeded to put together the metals plates (small and large).
Wed, Dec 10 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

This class, I saved my files to a folder on my desktop once renaming my sketches. After they got saved in DXF format, we learned how to operate the laser cutter.
Wed, Dec 10 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework due on 12/10/25, I created the horizontal upper arm joining the sides we had created earlier. I utilized functions like project and cut to get the desired shape. However, I did have to shut down my computer since Fusion had frozen, so the planes to create the new component looked different (also there is a hue on one of my sides that is not in the example).
Mon, Dec 8 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

Today in class, we added the circular and rectangular cutouts to our upper arm side. We also learned how to utilize functions such as creating multiple patterns to simplify the process. At the end, we duplicated the figure so that both of our upper arm sides are complete.
Mon, Dec 8 HW – Image and description of completed homework

For homework assigned on Friday, Dec 5th, I began to create my upper arm side profile as a part of the LED Lamp construction. Once I ensured that I was in edit mode of the sketch, I followed the video step by step. I learned how circles should drawn to their approximate size and the diameter can be changed later for fine-tuning. After, I used the functions “d” to input the distance I wanted to make between the circles. Then, once drawing a line connecting the two circles from the top and constraining it with the tangent function, I repeated the same for the bottom. Finally, I trimmed parts of diagram and saved my work.
Week 1
Fri, Dec 5 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

This class, I worked on a creating another box with the base’s dimensions being (4.875in x 4.875 in). After, once learning the e function to extend the base to the desired height, I hollowed out the figure. After that, I added the top and projected the base dimensions (using the p shortcut) on the square to ensure that both figures aligned properly. Finally, I created a handle for the top of the box by adding an extended cylinder. After the box was completed, I saved the file to create a new one for the LED Lamp Project. There, I added a new component called upper arm side and then, created a new sketch. After doing so, I confirmed that I had selected either the right/left plane to work on and that I was editing the sketch created, not making new copies.
Fri, Dec 5 HW – Image and description of completed homework
While we did not work on Fusion for this homework assignment, I watched the three videos attached on the course syllabus regarding the guidelines for uploading future homework assignments on this page.
Wed, Dec 3 CW – Image and description of completed classwork

The above shows a grey box designed in through the Fusion software on 12/3/25- it was created by the selecting the box dropdown from the create menu, and adjusting the dimensions of the figure. Previously, we learned how to install the software and operate it. Additionally, the file was saved and renamed to Box_draft.
