Create a New Component Named Base




- Create New Sketch
- Select Front Plane
- Sketch drawing
- Finish Sketch
- Press E for extrude
- Set Direction to Symmetric
- Select coplanar closed sketch profiles or faces to extrude
- Extrude main part of base 3 cm

- Press E for extrude
- Extrude middle section 42 cm
- Operation : Join
- Press E for extrude
- Select two smaller squares by clicking and holding down the mouse button
- Operation: Cut
- Press F for fillet
- Select 9 edges
- Fillet .5 cm

Create Side Peg
- Create New Sketch
- Select side of base
- Sketch drawing – Circle diam 1.5 cm
- Press D for dimension
- Place hole 4 cm up from bottom and 6 cm from back edge
- Press E for extrude
- Extrude peg – 1 cm
Create a New Component Named Link 1
- Right mouse click on main Assembly
- Create New Component – Link 1

- Create New Sketch and select side of base
- Press P for project
- Select circular edge of peg geometry and project to sketch
- Create 2 – point rectangle
- Change Feature Options to 3 – Point Rectangle
- Draw Sketch
- Finish Sketch
- Press E for extrude
- Select two profiles that make up the face of side
- Extrude 1 cm

- Make previous sketch visible
- Select circle from previous sketch
- Press E for extrude
- Extrude peg 2 cm
- Press F for fillet
- Fillet edges 1.5 cm
Create a New Component Named Link 2
- Right mouse click on main Assembly
- Create New Component named Link 2
- Create New Sketch
- Select side face of Link 1
- Press P for Project
- Project the top hole geometry to the sketch
- Create 2 – point rectangle
- Draw Sketch rectangle – 3 cm x 30cm
- Press D for dimension
- Center peg 1.5 cm
- Finish Sketch

- Press E for extrude
- Select the 3 profile areas that make up the face of link 2
- Extrude 1cm
- Press F for Fillet
- Fillet four corners 1.5 cm
- Press H for hole
- Select face of link 2
- Set Hole diameter to 1.5 cm
- Select reference and click on circular edge
- Set Shape Settings
- Extents = All
- Hole Type = Simple
- Hole Tap Type = Simple
- Drill Point = Flat
Create a New Component Named Slider
- Right mouse click on main Assembly
- Create New Component named Slider

- Create new Sketch
- Select front face of base
- Press P to project and select front face of base
- Place first corner of rectangle tangent to circles on the left
- Draw rectangle 4 cm wide x 5 cm tall
- Finish Sketch
- Press E for extrude
- Select drawing and extrude -8 cm
- Press F for fillet
- Fillet edges .5 cm


- Create New Sketch on side of slider
- Center circle with diameter of 1.5 cm
- Finish Sketch
- Press E for extrude and extrude – 3 cm



Assemble Model With Joints
Right click on Base component and ground object

- Under Assemble, select As-Built-Joint
- Set Joint Type to Revolute
- Select Link 1 for first component
- Select the base for second component
- Select a snap point to place the Joint Origin
- Rotate should be set to Z Axis
- Click Animate to preview joint motion

- Right Mouse Click, select Repeat As-Built-Joint
- Set Joint Type to Revolute
- Select Link 2 for first component
- Select the Link 1 for second component
- Select a snap point to place the Joint Origin
- Rotate should be set to Z Axis
- Click Animate to preview joint motion

- Under Assemble, select Joint
- Capture Position
- Set Joint Type to Revolute
- Select Link 2 for component 1
- Select the slider for component 2
- Rotate should be set to Z Axis
- Click Animate to preview joint motion
- Slider moves away from base
- Slider needs to be in place so move back one step in time line


- Under Assemble, select As-Built-Joint
- Set Joint Type to Slider
- Select Slider for first component
- Select the Base for second component
- Select a snap point to place the Joint Origin
- Slide should be set to Z Axis
- Click Animate to preview joint motion

Move Slider forward in timeline

Open Joints in Browser and animate model !

- Press A for appearance
- Apply color to components
