Below are my sketches for possible phone stands. Each is meant for different uses, whether that be holding the phone sideways for viewing, or upright for functionality.
Today I was able to do the MAD Exercise #2. Below is the front and “home” views.
After watching the video Tom Chi’s Ted talk about rapid prototyping, the importance of “doing” was very clear. When thinking of a product or idea, make a prototype as soon as possible. With a prototype, you are able to see first-hand where improvements need to be made. No matter how simple the prototype may be, it serves to establish a base model to improve on. Rapid prototyping takes the ideas from your head and puts them in your hands.

Below is my orthographic drawing of my iPhone 12. I think the extensive detail I put into my drawing will help when modeling the phone in Fusion360. I excluded dimensions from the drawing due to lack of space, but I have the necessary measurements on a separate sheet.

Below is the model for my Lamp Project. I wanted to go with something out of the ordinary, but it ended up looking like a massive microphone, which is okay. The base (bottom upside-down bowl shaped object) has been printed, but the size of my hole is too small, so I will have to drill that piece to make it larger. For all of the other pieces, I will adjust the hole size before printing.

I spent the 31st, my birthday, printing the final “ball” piece and stacking them up to see the result. The picture below is 4 of the 5 balls stacked up. Unfortunately, I will not be finishing the print, as it is enormous and will take forever.
