The Fourth Industrial Revolution

In comparison to the original industrial revolution which was the discovery that you are able to use steam engines to do many different interesting things, the fourth industrial revolution focuses on the merging of digital, physical and biological systems. The example given is the EEG machine, in which gives us a deeper understanding of the inner-workings of the human brain and how it operates. The fourth industrial revolution is about developing and creating technology helps in day-to-day life and in resolving major global issues such as the over-use of fossil fuels. We now have technology to supplement the fossil fuels; such as wind turbines and solar technology. The Fourth Industrial Revolution benefits us in design class as our aim is to design and create projects in which will support us in our day-to-day living.

Luminary Final Outcome.

Final Project Proposal

The problem in which i want encountered when deciding what project to do was getting a cramps in your hand when on your phone. For example; for a long period of time watching a video or Youtube. i decided to make a stand for my phone in which i could slide my phone into the stand and have holes for my leads and space for sound to come out. i decided to do this in a design of a TV.

The design process. The concept sketches.
My 2-D drawings on Rhino.
Along with my guideline sizes of my phone.
My 3-D model.

Prototype Number 1

However, this prototype fitted my phone without my cards in the card holder, it was snug. The screen size was not accurate and didn’t fit. I decided to go and make adjustments on Rhino to fix these errors.

Prototype Number 2

I added an extra layer in the middle to give my phone a little more room in there and to prevent it from scraping against the sides. I also adjusted the screens position on the front face.
