I used AI to generate my AI edited image of the lamp to put it into scale.
I used ChatGPT to generate the prompt which I put into Qwen AI: “Keep the existing lamp exactly as it is, which is 19 inches tall. Place it visually at the corner of a wooden desk. Add a small stack of books and some neatly arranged stationery on the desk. Maintain a minimal, cozy aesthetic with soft warm lighting and subtle shadows. The background should be clean, realistic, and slightly blurred to keep focus on the lamp.”

Started working on my sketch of the lightbulb in class. I also added more colored paper features to my luminary, such as the blue lightsaber to the first panel, the blue blaster bolts for the clones in the forth panel, and the orange to show the hole in the third panel is a wall being cut open. Additionally, I also 3D printed out my luminary light holder. Apologies for uploading this so late Mr. Brodie.

Problem Statement: I’m going to design a unique table lamp to add to the design and ambience of my room. It needs an interesting and unique shape, while still being bright enough to increase the room’s brightness. Regarding its size, my research has shown that it should be about 28 inches tall and the base should be 8 by 8 inches roughly. The design should feature some form of curves to add to make it smoother and more fluid.

Spent my homework time working on the second panel- decided on adding a city background and casting darth vader’s shadow in a cutout form which I am hoping to cover with black covered paper to create a shadow effect when light is shone through it.

I continued brainstorming the possible themes I want to consider for my luminary project, and while I did come up with three themes- Marvel, Star Wars and Singapore, all of which are personal to me in one way or the other, I decided to stick with Star Wars as I think the design will be really suitable for the luminary project. I also decided to rethink my design and decided on changing it to a subtheme of Order 66, specifically Anakin’s march on the Jedi Temple with the clones.

Luminary Theme Concept Statement:
The theme for my luminary project is Star Wars. I came up with this idea as a result for my affection for the star wars movies, which I am a huge fan of. I thought of my favourite scenes across Episode I-VI and ended up with two. I wanted to have one space battle and one lightsaber duel, so I chose Anakin and Obi-Wan’s Duel on Mustafar at the end of Episode III and Obi-Wan’s Dogfight in space with Jango Fett.
I also started working on my sketch design.
