  1. Save File
  2. Set Units to CM
  3. Create New Component: Base
  4. Start Sketch
  5. Select Front XY plane

  1. Draw center point rectangle starting at point of origin
    • 60 cm x 60 cm
  2. Delete construction lines
  3. Draw second center point rectangle on middle of right side
    • 12 cm x 6 cm
  4. Press L for line
  5. Toggle line type to construction
  6. Draw horizontal and vertical construction lines from origin
  1. Toggle line type to regular line
  2. Draw lines
  3. Mirror lines
  1. Type D for dimension
  2. Dimension sketch
    • 10 cm from edge
    • 20 cm tall
    • 12 cm inside line

  1. Mirror lines along horizontal construction line
  2. Mirror rectangle along vertical construction line

  1. Trim lines
  2. Finish Sketch
  1. Type E for extrude
  2. Set Direction = Symmetric
  3. Extruded Distance = 50 cm

  1. Create NEW COMPONENT : Slider
  1. Make sure Slider component is selected
  2. Start Sketch
  3. Select XY plane
  4. Type P for project
  5. Selection Filter = Bodies to project 3d model information to sketch plane
  1. Type L for line
  2. Toggle line type to construction
  3. Draw a vertical construction line from center
  4. Toggle line type to regular line
  5. Draw horizontal line 10 cm
  6. Draw vertical line even with top edge

  1. Type L for line
  2. Toggle line type to construction
  3. Draw horizontal construction line to determine center
  4. Toggle line type to regular line
  5. Draw center point arc with a Diameter = 48 cm
  6. Trim lower half of circle

  1. Draw second center point arc with a Diameter = 72 cm
  1. Type L for line
  2. Draw a small line connecting the large arch and vertical line
  3. Mirror lines to opposite side
  4. Trim the lower half of large circle

  1. Make sure your construction centerline is long enough to place the center of the rectangle on the line.
  2. Draw a center point rectangle with first point on center line
    • 24 cm x 10 cm
  3. Make sure second point touches arc
  4. Type D for dimension
  5. Dimension rectangle
  6. Finish Sketch

This part is tricky … See additional steps below!

  • Make sure your center construction line is long enough to place the center of the rectangle.

  • Draw 24 x 10 cm rectangle above half circle

  • Use the coincident constraint to make the lower right corner of the rectangle coincident with the large circle.
  • Finish Sketch
  1. Type E for extrude
  2. Set Direction to Symmetric
  3. Select Profile faces
  4. Extrude Distance = 10 cm

Hide base component

  1. Type H for Hole
  2. Select top Face
  3. Set hole diameter = 12 cm
  4. Set first Reference distance = 12 cm from short edge
  5. Set second Reference distance = 10 cm from long edge
  6. Set Extents = All
  7. Hole Type = Simple
  8. Hole Tap Type = Simple
  9. Drill Point = Flat
  1. Type F for fillet
  2. Select edges
  3. Fillet radius = 4 cm

  1. Right Mouse Click on main assembly
  2. Create NEW COMPONENT
  3. NAME = Pin
  1. Create Cylinder
  2. Select top face of slider
  3. Place center point
  4. Diameter = 12 cm
  5. Length = 60 cm

  1. Create second cylinder on the top face of previous cylinder
  2. Diameter = 24 cm
  3. Length = 20 cm
  1. Create Hole
  2. Select side face
  3. Diameter = 5 cm
  4. Extents = ALL
  5. Select top edge as Reference
  6. Set distance from top edge = 10 cm

Right mouse click on base in browser and Ground

  1. Type J for joint
  2. Click Motion Tab and Type = Slider
  3. Click Position Tab and set Component 1 to the center of the inside face of slider

  1. Set Component 2 to the side face of base

  1. Click on the Motion Tab
  2. Click on Preview Motion
  3. If the motion is in the wrong direction, change the slide Axis to X
  4. Preview Motion
  5. Click OK
  1. To view the timeline, select assembly at the top of the browser
  2. Right mouse click on joint feature in timeline
  3. Edit Joint Limits

  1. Minimum = -50 cm
  2. Maximum = 50 cm
  1. Type J for joint
  2. Component 1 = Center of bottom face top cylinder
  3. Component 2 = Center of top hole in base

  1. Right mouse click on joint feature in timeline
  2. Edit Joint Limits
  3. Minimum = 0 cm
  4. Maximum = 33 cm

  1. Type A for appearance
  2. Apply color materials to components
