CW/HW 5/29/23 I spent 5 and a half hours designing both the 2nd and 3rd panel of my luminary.

HW 5/27/23 I spent a good 90 minutes designing this panel, and making sure that the entire width from the edge of the positive space to the other edge of the positive space was exactly 5 inches. The lines meet in the middle nicely, and look like they will print well.

CW/HW 5/24/23 My Fusion was shutting down and not working yesterday, so I could not take a screenshot of the work I completed, so I compiled that with the in-class work that I did today in a single picture. 1st panel is 100% finished now.

CW 5/22/23 Today I added more detail to my glove, adding the fingers and circle designs.

HW 5/22/23 I went back and revised my panel drawing, mainly because I didn’t like the aesthetic of the foils on that panel. I selected to add a drawing of a fencing glove on this panel instead.

HW 5/19/23 For HW, I further edited my panel’s sketch, by adding/subtracting more lines and offsetting.

HW 5/16/23 Tonight I offsetted more lines in my panel, and deleted/fixed the spacing arrangements in the panel so that there was enough space for offsetment of the lines.

HW 5/9/23 I finished designing the first panel of my luminary in fusion.

HW 5/8/23 I started to incorporate my luminary designs into fusion by firstly creating the appropriate panel inside panel within a single piece of wood layout in the sketch.

Also, I made the back of the right drawer.

For HW today (4/3/23) I used the combine tool to create joinery between the different components by creating the rectangular cutouts for the different pieces in order to enable a

Final lamp completed in fusion.

Lower arm horizontal sketch complete, extruded, and connected to both lower arms.

Sketched and extruded both base verticals, then duplicated them.

Large metal plate sketched, extruded, and duplicated, then jointed with a revolute joint to the base verts + lower arms.

base plate sketched, extruded, subtracted from the verts to project the holes, and then rigidly jointed to the verts.

Cell phone model inserted into the stand slot, at an angle.

Pencil box parts sketched, extruded, and joined (rigid joints), to form the box, dividers sketched and extruded.

Installed Fusion 360 successfully.

Physical pencil box assembled and glued today.

Completed wood LED lamp, fully functional.

Completed digital creative pencil box

Added a wood finish.
Questions about Desktop Organizer. CW, 3/24/23
- In what ways do you feel that a Desktop Organizer could be helpful to your academic success at Lawrenceville?
- What aspects of a desktop organizer would benefit you, more specifically, what certain features do you feel would add a personalized touch that is important to you/your studying?
- Do you struggle with time management and/or organization at all? If so, how?
- Do you like to compartmentalize different objects according to a standard?(pens with pens, pencils with pencils, chargers with chargers, etc.) If you do, how could I best help you with designing a feature that could help you more efficiently do this?
- According to you, what would the ideal desktop organizer look like, what kind of material would it be made out of, how tall/how many levels, and how many drawers would there be?
- Are you a person who likes art? Do you like to draw a lot? Would more storage space in your organizer be helpful for you?
- Is there a color or specific structure that you would like to see in the design of the organizer that would be more appealing to you than just regular wood/light brown default color?
- Would you like an engraving or message written on the organizer? If so, where?
Questions about Desktop Organizer. HW for 3/27/23(Design is for Logan Johnson) (W/Answers)
- In what ways do you feel that a Desktop Organizer could be helpful to your academic success at Lawrenceville?
Having a desk organizer would help me be more productive, because as of now, I often do work on my bed since my desk is a mess and I fall asleep/get distracted easily when working on my bed.
- What aspects of a desktop organizer would benefit you, more specifically, what certain features do you feel would add a personalized touch that is important to you/your studying?
Special trinkets would remind me of other things that are important to me besides studying, and they would inspire me to get my work done faster.
- Do you struggle with time management and/or organization at all? If so, how?
I struggle to complete all of my work during study hall and I do the rest in the morning, because of distractions.
- Do you like to compartmentalize different objects according to a standard?(pens with pens, pencils with pencils, chargers with chargers, etc.) If you do, how could I best help you with designing a feature that could help you more efficiently do this?
I would like to have all of my new pencils in one area, used pencils in one area, a drawer for paper, and a drawer for notebooks.
- According to you, what would the ideal desktop organizer look like, what kind of material would it be made out of, how tall/how many levels, and how many drawers would there be?
I would like it to be symmetrical, made out of wood, and 1 ft by 1ft, with 4 drawers.
- Are you a person who likes art? Do you like to draw a lot? Would more storage space in your organizer be helpful for you?
Not really, although I would like to have more space for pencils/pens though.
- Is there a color or specific structure that you would like to see in the design of the organizer that would be more appealing to you than just regular wood/light brown default color?
Baby blue, square/rectangular structure.
- Would you like an engraving or message written on the organizer? If so, where?
No thanks.
Problem Statement:
The problem that I am addressing is Logan’s ability to be as productive as possible during study hall, and I will do this by designing and fabricating him a blue, wooden, symmetrical desktop organizer that has drawers for the organization of different papers, notebooks, pencils, and pens. During my interview with him, Logan stated that a 1 foot x 1 foot blue desktop organizer with compartmentalized sections/drawers and some trinkets would motivate him to use his desk more often, therefore helping him be much more efficient during study hours. This is because he currently does most of his work on his bed, resulting in a less productive study hall due to distractions. Logan would like his organizer to have some of his personal items attached to it to add a personal touch, as well as a layer of paint.

HW 3/28/23 6 Concept sketches for Desktop Organizer

CW 3/28/23
Today I extruded all of the necessary components for the assembly of my prototype organizer.

I redid the frame of my Desktop Organizer by making a more efficient original sketch. HW (3/31/23)

In Class (4/1/23), I remodeled and fixed my desktop organizer model by extruding the parts correctly, so that there will be negative+positive space.
Today, I showed my client the cardboard prototype of my desktop organizer, and he approves of it. Upon review of my prototype, my client told me that he does not have any additional parts that he would like to be incorporated into the final design, as the current design of the prototype satisfies his expectations. HW 4/3/23

CW: 4/3/23 Completed Desktop Organizer cardboard prototype.

For HW today (4/3/23) I used the combine tool to create joinery between the different components by creating the rectangular cutouts for the different pieces in order to enable a painless assembly.
