Thur, Oct 31 CW – image of work completed in class

We had a shortened class, and I continued to add the stars to the background.

Thur, Oct 31 HW – image of completed homework

I came to class afterschool to test print my stingray layer on cardboard to see if it would print properly, which it did.

Fri, Oct 25 CW – image of work completed in class

We worked on the frames for our light box, so I worked on sanding, taping, and gluing the rims together.

Fri, Oct 25 HW – image of completed homework

I continued to work on my background layer and the girl.

Thur, Oct 24 CW – image of work completed in class

We worked on making attaching the LED strip to our frames of the light box.

Thur, Oct 24 HW – image of completed homework

I chose to re-separate the layers because it would add more depth to the look.

Tue, Oct 22  CW – image of work completed in class

I continued to work on my background and the boat

Tue, Oct 22  HW – image of completed homework

I started working on my background and the boat.

Fri, Oct 18 CW – image of work completed in class

I continued to try to work on the stingray and adding details.

Fri, Oct 18 HW –  image of completed homework

I was working on adding some more details and attaching the 2 stingrays together.

Wed, Oct 16 CW – image of work completed in class

I was able to restart my work and retrace the outline. I used a mix of the curved and straight line.

Wed, Oct 16 HW – image of completed homework

I had continued to work on it, but I hadn’t taken a screenshot, but since I was working on a hotspot, none of my work saved.

Mon,  Oct 14    CW – image of work completed in class

In class we did woodshed work and started making our frames for our mandalas.

Mon, Oct 14  HW – image of completed homework

I didn’t know the measurements for the box so I continued to sketch the reflection of the stingray, and got the measurements in class.

Thur, Oct 10 CW – image of work completed in class

I switched to this scene, and this was my work sketching it so far.

Thur, Oct 10 HW – image of completed homework

Finished the Interim comments form.

Tue, Oct 8  CW – image of work completed in class

I had decided to stick with Moana and was planning on doing this scene. I had begun drawing it, but I lost my page as I switched ideas in the future.

Tue, Oct 8  HW – image of completed homework

Looking at different movie scenes to try and decide which ones to pick. I had really liked this one in Rapunzel, but I thought that the pieces would work out oddly due to the fact that it’s getting lazer cut. I narrowed it down to either Rapunzel or Moana.

Fri, Oct 4 CW – image of work completed in class

Finished sanding and staining my mandala.

Fri, Oct 4 HW –  image of completed homework

No Homework

Wed, Oct 2 CW – image of work completed in class

In class I worked on my rhino wood project but I haven’t gotten to laser print it.

Wed, Sept Oct 2 HW – image of completed homework

Worked on the cardboard pencil case rhino doc.

Mon, Sept 30  CW – image of work completed in class

In class I had worked on the pencil case in cardboard, and had to complete it as homework as I left class early for a soccer game.

I had done this mandala on the Sunday before this class.

Fri, Sept 27 CW – image of work completed in class

I printed the bottom layer but forgot to take a photo of it.

Fri, Sept 27 HW –  image of completed homework

No Homework

Wed, Sept 25 CW – image of work completed in class

I worked on staining today. I think I am going to go with American chestnut for the bottom layer, gunstock for the middle layer, and golden pecan for the top layer.

Wed, Sept 25 HW – image of completed homework

I added a couple lines to the center part and decided this was the final design.

Mon, Sept 23  CW – image of work completed in class

Mon, Sept 23  HW – image of completed homework

I cut some of the light grey squiggles that were going into the dark grey layer but the scissor tool wasn’t working the best so there’s some left over that I will do in class. I also added lines to the dark grey layer.

Thur, Sept 19 HW – image of completed homework

My Illustrator wasn’t working properly, so I emailed Mr. Brodie and we fixed it in class.

Tue, Sept 17  CW – image of work completed in class

Since I wasn’t there last class, today I worked on adding the etch layer to my name laser project and laser printed that out. I also learned how to make a mandala and printed that out on my piece of wood. I learned that the thickness of 2 would probably end up breaking from fragility, so I should use no less than the thickness of 4.

Tue, Sept 17  HW – image of completed homework

I wasn’t able to get all the work done, and in the video, the guy found a way to get the circle behind and cut some of it, and my Illustrator wasn’t working properly to make that happen.
