Final Project
Final Design/ Outcome:
I was able to curve the edges, which positively adds to its appearance. I also put finger joints in all of the barriers so the sides connect better. Overall I am satisfied with my project since it serves its purpose to organize papers and other supplies. If I were to make another model I would make my barriers slightly higher and add more creative elements such as engravings in order to make it look better.
Concept Sketch 2 2/15/18:
After trying to find a new way to build my side pieces, I determined that it would be easier to build the base as one piece and make more aesthetically pleasing sides. Having one solid base would make adding the middle divider much easier. Also, the new curved side looks much better than the old design where the side was two different heights.

Concept Sketch 2/8/19:
I made three compartments to hold my things. The left compartment is slightly larger than printer paper so I can keep all my loose papers there. The two compartments on the right sider vary in size so I can put larger objects in the back one due to higher borders.

Ideate 1/25/18:
Right now my desk and dresser are both very disorganized with stuff scattered all over the surfaces. In order to solve this problem, I am going to design an organizer that can hold a variety of items.

Phone Stand Project
Prototype Two 12/10/18:
Prototype One 12/4/18:
After deciding to compare my concept sketches and identifying a design, I measured dimensions on the cardboard and constructed a prototype of the phone stand. While it is very simple, it can support a phone horizontally and vertically. In my next prototype, I will add to the sides as an attempt to amplify the volume.
Guiding Statement, Define Mode 12/3/18:
My client often uses her phone to watch Netflix when doing her homework so I decided to design a phone stand that would make it easier to do so. I first realized that the phone would have to lie horizontally on the stand so the phone speakers wouldn’t be blocked and my client could watch full screen shows the also play horizontally. I then determined the phone should lay on the stand at an angle that makes it easy to watch shows and prevents glares. Lastly, I will have a small piece of cardboard at the bottom of the stand to ensure the phone does not slide off the stand.

Design Process Ideate 12/3/18:
During this part of the process, I designed different variations of the same phone stand base to see which looks the most appealing and efficient. One constraint I have is trying to make a stand where the phone sits at an angle to reduce glare but can stand without support because of its solid base.
Design Process Empathize 11/27/18:
My client often uses her phone to watch Netflix while doing homework so I need to design a phone stand that would make it easier to do so.
