Paragraph Response “Rapid Prototyping”

One of the most important aspects of this video is how prototypes take a much shorter time than what it could seem. Since it is a prototype it is not a final project which needs to be ‘perfect’. Usually prototypes take up to a day to make. This prototype will have some places which would need improvement. (ex. size, weight, shape, etc.) Making the improvements leads to a more developed project. One thing that the video had taught me was to test out what you think to see if it is a successful piece or something that you will need to redo. Like ‘Trial and Error’. Doing this lets us better understand what is happening with the project and which decisions will lead us to a final piece. Also, by doing the trial and error type work it can create ideas in which could be used to make your final piece better than what was intended by making solutions for problems and adding key parts to the project development.

Response to the Fourth Revolution video:

Industrial revolution that is new in modern day brings together biological, physical, digital systems. This is very unique from stuff that had existed in the past. The functionality of biological products are focus on instead of quantity made of those products. Making life simpler and more comfortable is the main point of these new designs and products. Products that do not pollute the Earth or Natural products are preferred.

I decided to switch my design midway through Below is my final Design.

Final Phone Stand Project (Few Details to be Added.)

I ended up changing my pencil holder design to a boat since my father works with shipping and it was the best idea that came to mind. Also I needed to improve my design since I thought my first design was way too simple to do.

Here I made the triangles inside to strengthen the whole arm. It took a very long time making this so I will need to finish the second arm in class or later this week.

For this I tried to mimic a screw size and put inside of the axil. I Did not know how to make a screw fit inside it so I just showing a mimicked version.

For this I trie to make the holder for the wire that goes up. I still need to work on curling it and I will need the diameter of the wire to make it a snug fit.

February 17, 2021

Here you can see slightly the holders for the wire to go up on my lamp.

For this I finished the second bar of triangles to help the whole arm become stronger.

Febuary 19, 2021

I tried to make a sleeve for protection to where the wire should go and where the bar is that connects to the lightbulb.

Here is where I will feed the wire through the bottom of the lamp.

February 23, 2021

Here I made a covering for the holder on the lamp head.

This is where the nut is supposed to go to create enough tension to hold the lamp up.

I made the lamp shade smaller and thickened the walls of the lamp shade as-well.

I listened to Mr. Brodie’s suggestion of putting a slit through the wire holder so it will be easier to put in.

Here you can see I made a small. enough hole to feed the wire through to power up the lightbulb.

This is the final design of the Lamp that I have made.

This is the Slider that I have completed.
