Tom Chi’s “Rapid prototyping Google Glass” Paragraph Response HW
One important aspect that I learned from the video was that prototyping is not a long process. It is quite fast when it is done properly and efficiently. It usually can take from about 45 minutes to around a day. A prototype is not the final model which means it does not have to be perfect. It should have room for improvement as you see what you would like to change and develop. One thing that I learned from the video is that you must actually “do” what you are thinking. It is the best way to see if your ideas make sense and are going to work. You learn how it works and how you must improve your model in order for it to be the best it can possibly be. To connect the video to our design challenge we must remember to keep our prototypes simple and to try many different things.
List of Constraints
- The cellphone holder should be sizable and big enough to hold any model of iPhone.
- It should have space and openings for the charging port, camera, volume, and power button
- It should be lightweight and easy to transport
- it must has a nice material that will not scratch or damage the iphone
- It should have grips on the bottom to keep it from falling over and sliding across the surface.
Actionable Problem Statement
My client that will be purchasing this custom phone holder needs it for when he needs to put his phone down but in a position where he can still see the screen. He is a good multitasker and prefers for the phone holder to hold the phone vertically but says that he will also sometimes need to put his phone horizontally. He is big on gaming and will sometimes punch his desk out of anger, so the holder must be stable with grips on the bottom and insides so that it does not fall and the phone does not slip. It also must grant him access to the charging port, volume buttons, power button, and screen of course. He would also like for it to be lightweight so that he can move it around with ease to put it in different positions around the house.

What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution? Response-
After watching the “What is the fourth Industrial Revolution” video, I learned that that it was industrialization that included the ideology that manufacturing with the use of modernized technology would be the one of the greatest advancements in industrial history. I will greatly affect our world as a whole and created more opportunities for the use of different technologies. One thing from the video that I found the most interesting was the fact that we have been using this technology fro so many year but have still been unable to overcome so many worldwide problems such as creating clean water and diminishing climate change. This video relates to our technology and design class such that we are currently learning how to create virtual prototypes and new types of technology in order to create an innovation with the most effectiveness.
