Week 10
Tue, Feb 25 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I started modeling the phone on fusion and i started by making the sketch for the case and screen.

Fri, Feb 21 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I started drawing the sketch of my phone and using the caliber to get the specific measurements.

Wed, Feb 19 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I glued the pencil box together and started the phone holder.

Mon, Feb 17 CW – image of work completed in class
I printed the pieces for the pencil organizer. After that I sanded it and then dry fit the pieces together.

Week 9
Thur, Feb 13 CW – Image of work completed in class
I finished modeling the pencil organizer test and created all the sketches for it. I used the joint tool alot to make sure everything fits as well as the combine tool.

Tues, Feb 11 CW – Image of work completed in class
Today I finished gluing and then I started the test and I used the measuring tools as well as what we had previously learned to figure out how to make it. I started by creating the sketch then extruding it and then using joint to position it.

Week 8
Sat, Feb 8 HW – image of completed classwork
today i finished printing the parts and sanded them but when I dry fit them together I realized the bottom part was missing a joint so I have to reprint that next time.

Thur, Feb 6 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I worked on finishing making the sketches and thenprinting my desktop organizer.

Week 7
Thur, Jan 30 CW – Image of work completed in class
I finished making the large and small triangles but my sketch was on the wrong side so I had to do some extra steps. Then I duplicated the small triangles so that I had three and evenly spaced them using the measure tool. Then I started to create sketches for each part so I can download them and make a DXF file to print later.

Thur, Jan 30 HW – Image of completed homework
I finished making the joint cutouts for the bottom for the back verticle using the cut/combine tools and I also made the large angle side from out original sketch but I tried to do the joint and it was not working.

Tues, Jan 28 CW – Image of work completed in class
Today I worked on modeling the base, back, and I started the back verticle. I used the combine tool alot to make the joints and I had to do some extra steps as my original sketch was on the wrong side.

Tues, Jan 28 HW – Image of completed homework
I fixed the joint distance between the left and right sides and then made the sketch for the front. I used the mirror tool to make the curved line symetrical and the fillet tool to make the curved edges.

Week 6
Fri, Jan 24 CW – image of work completed in class
I soldered the wires together and used the hot air gun to seal the covers. I also worked a bit on the model for the desk organizer.

Wed, Jan 22 CW – image of work completed in class
Today we started the desktop organizer and I learned how to make a variable for the material thickness. We also learned a new way by making a sketch and bodies first and then making the components from that. We used many tools and a new one was the curved line tool.

Week 5
Sat, Jan 18 CW – image of work completed in class
Absent
Thur, Jan 16 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I sanded the base and learned how to make the holes bigger using the machine. I then screwed in the parts to attatch the LED and then attatched the arms to the base plate. I also learned how to trim the wires and attatch the wires to base. Overall, I learned how to use many new tools.

Tues, Jan 14 CW – image of work completed in class
today in class I reprinted the base plate with the holes this time. Then I used resin to attatch the metal disks and then used the glue and blocks to keep the verticals in place with the plate. After that I attatched the lower and upper arm with the screws.

Week 4
Fri, Jan 10 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I started by cutting out the base plate and verticals. However, I realized that the sketch I exported for the base plate didn’t have the holes for the verticlals. I had to then create a new sketch for the plate using the project tool so it contained the holes. Since the laser cutter was being used, I glued together the lower horizontal pieces.

Fri, Jan 10 HW – image of completed homework
For homework I worked on the base. I created the base verticals and positioned the base plate I made in class. I used the joint tool to do this. I then made a new project for the main base section and it was a bit confusing as many parts were inside the base and later covered. I used many tools like project, extrude, and creating different sketches to extrude certain parts.

Wed, Jan 8 -CW – image of work completed in class
Today in class I created the base plate and made the holes for the wire and switch. I learned how to use multiple lines and the trim tool to place and position things how you want and then later delete them. I then created the base verticles and used the tangent tool again.

Wed, Jan 8 HW – image of completed homework
I made the lower horizontal section of the arm and added the circle and square cutouts and created the joinery for it. I used the tools and methods that we previously learned to do this step.

Week3
Thur, Dec 19 CWW – image of completed classwork
Today I cut out the lower arm pieces using my notes and used the epoxy glue to glue on the magnets and the metal disks using the same methods I used yesterday to do the upper arm.

Thur, Dec 19 HW – None
Wed, Dec 18 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I used my notes to print out the upper arm pieces. Then I learned how to use the sander and sanded the pieces. After that, I mixed the epoxy glue to attach the magnets and used the wood glue to put it all together. We learned to not use too much glue. I used the clamps keep everything in place.

Wed, Dec 18 HW – image of completed homework
I made a construction line and re-used the rectangular pattern tool as well as the coincident tool to create the circular and rectangular cutouts on the lower arm horizontal section. I then copied and pasted the set of the rectangles to continue the pattern throughout the lower arm horizontal piece.

Mon, Dec 16 CW – image of work completed in class
Today I moved forward with the model extruding the lower arm and making a copy as well as assembling the metal disks and learning how to use the joint tool. After that I was able to move forward and create and extrude the lower horizontal piece and use the combine tool to make the cutouts.

Mon, Dec 16 HW – image of completed homework
I watched the videos on how to create the sketch for the metal disks and the sketch for the lower arm side. I used the rectangular and circular pattern tools again as well as the other tools like tangent tool fillet tool and construction lines that we had used before to create the upper arm.

Week 2
Thur, Dec 12 CW – Image of work completed in class
We downloaded the DXF files, learned how to use the laser cutter, and took notes.
Thur, Dec 12 HW – Image of completed homework
I watched the video on how to make the inside part of the upper arm and learned how to use the rigid and cut tool to do this.

Tues, Dec 10 CW – Image of work completed in class
We finished the sketch of the upper arm and extruded the sketch. In the sketch, we learned how to use the circular and rectangular pattern tools and the coincident tool.

Tues, Dec 10 HW – Image of completed homework
Started the LED lamp sketch for the upper side arm while watching a video explaining how to do it. I learned how to use the tangent tool and trim tool as well as set a distance between two objects.

Week 1
Fri, Dec 6 CW – image of work we did in class
We learned more about using Fusion and used the hole tool as well as making a bottom and lid for the box.

Wed, Dec 4 CW – image of work we did in class
We started to learn how to use Fusion and that every part needs to be a separate component as well as starting the box project.
