Finished orthographic drawing of phone and started modeling. Already made the side buttons but haven’t finished the bottom yet. Used the caliber a lot and the circle tool to get right measurements of phone for drawing.

Fri, Feb 21 HW – image of completed homework
Sketched phone orthographically, plan to insert measurements in class to be more precise. Also planning to print laptop stand during spring term because the computer of the CNC printer is not working.

Wed, Feb 19 CW – image of work completed in class
Had the model of laptop stand checked and dowloaded all of the sketches as DXF files. Imported the files on the laser cutter and tried turning the CNC printer on, but it didn’t work. Help someone glue their desktop organizer together.

Wed, Feb 19 HW – image of completed homework
Finished model of laptop stand. Hope to print it out next class and learn how to use CNC printer. Will also check if all of the joints are correctly made during class. Learned how to offset plane to create the bottom vertical.

Mon, Feb 17 CW – image of work completed in class
Almost finished the laptop stand model. Just have to finish up the bottom verticals. Did most of the dog bones and had to edit the first sketch which meant I had to alter all of the following steps.

Mon, Feb 17 HW – image of completed homework
Finished top extrusions and combined the top and sides to create the joints. Planning to do the dog bones in class since it’s a new concept. Used the mirror feature a lot which reduced the workload required.

Week 9
Thur, Feb 13 CW – Image of work completed in class
Started CNC laptop stand project. Learned a little about the CNC machine and how it is different to the laser cutter. Created both sides and started the sketch for the top. Will try to complete model for homework.

Thur, Feb 13 HW – Image of completed homework
Started my own project, and got inspired by my old Science Olympiad build. I am going to try to build a tower. I completed one side and used the offset and trim tool a lot.

Tues, Feb 11 CW – Image of work completed in class
Finished 3D modeling my hinge by following youtube tutorial. Took my box organizer test and desktop organizer home since they are both completed. Learned how to restrict revolutionary joint movement and flip joint. Practiced using rectangular pattern tool a lot.

Tues, Feb 11 HW – Image of completed homework
Finished gluing box organizer over consult and started watching a video about hinges in Fusion 360. Started a project for something that looks like a door hinge.

Week 8
Sat, Feb 8 CW – image of work completed in class
Finished printing out the box organizer and sanding it. Assembled it and ready for gluing. Also learned about next project and will start learning about hinges and practicing fusion exercises.

No further homework can be done.
Thur, Feb 6 CW – image of work completed in class
I got my wood and got my box organizer checked for accuracy. Just waiting to print. Will have to come in during consult so I can print because the line for the laser printers is too long.

Thur, Feb 6 HW – image of completed homework
Finished box organizer and will check if it is accurate next class. Used past knowledge to create the model. Hopefully, all the components are correctly formatted.

Week 7
Thur, Jan 30 CW – Image of work completed in class
Reprinted my left side and finished sanding all of the parts. Finished gluing my desktop organizer and learned how to use clamps. Also used a tool to write off all of the wood glue. Started the box organizer.

Thur, Jan 30 HW – Image of completed homework
There’s nothing left I can do outside of school since the only thing I need to do is: reprint left side, sand three more parts including new left side, and assemble the organizer.
Tues, Jan 28 CW – Image of work completed in class
Finished my 3D model of organizer and printed it out. A part got chopped off the left side though so I will have to reprint that. Started sanding the parts as well.

Tues, Jan 28 HW – Image of completed homework
Finished and extruded back of organizer. Bumped into a road block when I tried to extrude the bottom and learned that my sketch is on the wrong side of the left panel. Hopefully that’s not a super important detail.

Week 6
Fri, Jan 24 CW – image of work completed in class
Finished front side of organizer and extruded it. Also made progress on my lamp that was previously broken. Almost back at the soldering stage. Learned a hack when extruding.

Fri, Jan 24 HW – image of completed homework
Finished left side of organizer: Part A,B, and C. Practiced using new variable and edited model using the timeline at the bottom. Also learned that instead of typing in the same dimension multiple times, it is possible to just click a previous one and copy it over.

Wed, Jan 22 CW – image of work completed in class
Couldn’t come in for class due to a game so I came in for consult. This is what I got done for consult and I only finished a portion of the left side’s sketch. Learned how to create a new variable and that it is necessary to proceed with caution when using variables.

Wed, Jan 22 HW – image of completed homework
No HW
Week 5
Sat, Jan 18 CW – image of work completed in class
Heated the layer outside the wire so it would protect the exposed soldered wire. Also redid the bottom screws of the lower arm. Glued baseplate to base using wood glue.

Sat, Jan 18 HW – image of completed homework
None
Thur, Jan 16 CW – image of work completed in class
Learned how to solder using the new tool and tinned the wires. Also soldered the wires together but accidentally did it backwards wards so had to redo it really quickly.

Thur, Jan 16 HW – image of completed homework
None
Tues, Jan 14 CW – image of work completed in class
Taped the lights onto the upper arm and cut out the base plate and verticals. Assembled the base (glued the disk onto the base verticals using resin) and waiting for the wood glue to dry.

Tues, Jan 14 HW – image of completed homework
None
Week 4
Fri, Jan 10 CW – image of work completed in class
Assemble upper arm and lower arm together. Learned how to use a drilling machine and made the holes in something bigger. Used a bunch of screws to assemble things together.

Fri, Jan 10 HW – image of completed homework
Attached base plate and horizontals to rest of lamp model. Also created new project for the base and built the base. Used the cut and extrude features a lot and worked on both sides differently on one 3D figure.

Wed, Jan 8 -CW – image of work completed in class
Created the base plate and the base vertical. Didn’t learn anything really new and just built on previous skills. Learned how to make little extrusions using offset command.

Wed, Jan 8 HW – image of completed homework
Created and finished lower arm horizontal and used the rectangular pattern a lot. Utilized a bunch of past skills and base is ready to be built.

Week3
Thur, Dec 19 CWW – image of completed homework
Finished Lower Arm by sanding it, glueing magnets, and gluing it all together. Also glued the circular magnet on that connects the upper and lower arm.

Thur, Dec 19 HW – None
Wed, Dec 18 CW – image of work completed in class
Glued magnets onto upper arm using epoxy and used wood glue to glue the upper arm together. Also laser cut the lower arm out during class. Will sand it next class. Learned how to used epoxy resin.
