Today in class I worked on my AI art history project and gluing my panels together. This was chganging bacuse I didnt want my art to break while under the pressure of the rubber bands. I am also proud of how my AI art histiory project is looking. In conclusion, I am proud of what I got done in class, and look forward to getting more work done in the project.

Tue, Nov 11 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-11-11

Today for homework I tried to generate a better image of a cubism dog on a couch. I generated over 90 images and this was the best image I was able to create. This shows that AI is not good at showing subjects through multiple perspectives and using geometric shapes to create images. In conclusion I am happy with what I learned today during homework and I look forward to learning more about AI art.

“Create a very abstract, cubist image of a dog lounged out on a couch in a Pablo Picasso style. Show the dog through sharp, bold geometric shapes, with multiple perspectives of the dog joined together. Make this image look like it was painted with oil paint on a white canvas. Be sure to implement multiple perspectives of the key features of the dog, like the face and the body. Show this image from far away.”

Today in class, I printed and glued my golfer onto my 4th panel. I also wrote a paragraph for the art history assignment about Impressionism. I am happy with the way my golfer came out after I sanded it because it made the colors of the stripes pop. In conclusion, I am proud of what I got done in class, and look forward to getting more work done in the project.

Tue, Nov 4 HW – image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-11-4

Today in for homework I generated 2 images. I generated one of Cubism and one of pop art. The pop art image was hard to generate and took over 50 images to create one that I liked. The Cubism image was also challenging but not as hard at the Pop art image. In conclusion I am proud of my work and I look forward to working more on this project.

“Create a cubism image of a dog on a couch using oil paints on a canvas, use geometric shapes in a Pablo Picasso style that is abstract with not a lot of visible brush strokes.”

“Create a pop art image of 4 hot dogs in 4 even spaced solid color cubes in a 2×2 grid using bright, vibrant colors in an Andy Warhol digital art style. Use bright and vibrant solid colors for each box and hot dog. Have there be no shadows in the image or under each hot dog.”

Today in class I generated an AI image of Impressionism and I worked on my last panel. On my last panel I cut out my golfer to put on top but the club broke while sanding. For my AI generated art it too many prompts to give me what I wanted but I think it came out well. In conclusion I am proud of what I got done in class, and look forward to getting more work done in the project.

Prompt: “The New York skyline at night with lights coming from the buildings very intricate strokes throughout the painting with small brush strokes painted with painted with oil paints in a Claude Monet Impressionism style on a white canvas.”

Today in class I worked on my mandala design. I made all of the layers outlined and I swapped the stroke and fill. This makes it so I am ready to cut this out on the laser cutter. Today I got nothing done on my lamp because the cutters were all used up. In conclusion I am proud of what I got done in class and I look foward to the next project.

Wed, Oct 29 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-10-29

Today for homework I worked on my mandala project. Tonight I did some work on the top layer making the outside circles reach the corners of the canvas. I also spaced them all out by 0.5 inches to ensure it looks as uniform as possible. I also added more circles to the bottom layer to continue the circles through all the layers. In conclusion I am proud of what I got done today for homework.

Top layer:

Tonight for homework I worked on starting the next project. I watched the video while I was woking and it helped a lot. It was challenging because the video had a lot of commands that I didn’t know but it was still helpful. In conclusion I am proud of my work so far and I look forward to doing more in this project.

Thur, Oct 9 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-10-9

Today in class I printed my third panel. However while I was printing it I messed up the settings so some of the vector cut all the way through and some of the cut through didn’t make it all the way through. However I am not stressed about timing because I am ahead and already have 2 panels almost complete. In conclsuion I learned a lot about not rushing in class.

Thur, Oct 9 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-10-9

Tonight, for homework, I worked on my golfer. I added shoes, a pocket, and a design for the shirt to make the golfer stand out more and to also give my design more personality. It was challenging to make the lines on the polo look like they are curved with the body, but not crooked, but I think I did a good job achieving this goal. I also made all the vector etch lines 0.0001 in size to make them ready for the cutter. In conclusion, I am proud of what I got done and look forward to finishing more panels.

Today in class I sanded my second panel and put white paper over they sky of my panel. I sanded down the edges of my panel to clean off all the brown bits around the boarder. This makes the whole art work come out cleaner. I glued white paper to the sky of my panels to make them look more like a lamp. In conclusion I am proud of the two pannels that I am almost done with.

Tue, Oct 7 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-10-7

today for homework I went in to GCAD and printed my seocond pannel. I used the same settings as my last pannel to make sure they come out the same. I like how this pannel came out but I still need to sand it to make the native space as light as possible. In conclsuon I am proud of my work and I am happy I was able to get ahed on this project.

Sat, Oct 4 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-10-4

Today in class I printed my first panel of my lamp. This was exiting because I was finally able to see my work come to life. I am also proud of the way the panel came out and I recorded the laser settings to ensure all my panels come out like this. After the laser cutter Mr. Brodie and I sanded down the edges of my panel to get rid of the burn marks. In conclusion I am proud of what I got done in class today.

Sat, Oct 4 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-10-4

I also made the contrast higher to make everything more clear. In conclusion I am proud of the work I did today and I am ready to start cutting next class.

Wed, Oct 1 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-10-1

Today in class I added more detail to my cut though layer shown in white below. The main areas I added more cut through is around the fairway and on the lower half of the first panel. I also did a test print of my golfer. After this test print Mr. Brodie and I came up with the idea to print the golfer separate and glue it on later to make the golfer pop out more. In conclusion I got a lot done in class and I am proud of my progress.

Wed, Oct 1 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-10-1

Tonight for homework I made my golfer look more realistic. This was challenging because I have not made a lot of humans in Adobe. I also added cut through layers around each lamp piece. This will make the lamp pieces come out from the wood sheets. I also cleaned up the vector etch in some places. In conclusion I am proud of the work I got done tonight.

Today In class I did a test print of my flag. This is bacuse the flag is one of the parts that has the most going on so I wanted to ensure that it came out well. From this test print I learned that I need to remove the vector etch line that runs thugh the flag stick. In conclusion I am proud of what I got done in class.

Mon, Sep 29 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-9-29

Tonight for homework I converted my work to grey scale. This was changing because I had to change all the colors to make them contrast more. I did this because it will make my work pop more. I also made my Vector etching and cut though layers 0.0001 thickness so they are ready for the laser. In conclusion I am proud of the work I got done and I will be ready to start testing next class.

Thur, Sept 25 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-9-25

Today in class I worked on creating the 4th panel for my lamp. This was changing because I had to crate the golfer too which had many details. I also worked crating all of my Vector etching lines for this project. I made all of them white and bold to show where they are. In conclusion I am proud of the work I completed today and I am looking forward to cutting this out soon.

Thur, Sept 25 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-9-25

Today for homework I worked on creating the 3rd panel for my lamp. The hardest part of this was crating the fairway stripes, this is because it was changing making the lines come out parallel. I also created the flag on the second slide. This was changing because I wanted to make the flag look like it is blowing. To achieve this I made all the squares on the flag a bit round on each side. In conclusion I got a lot done for homework tonight and I am proud of my work.

Tue, Sept 23 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-9-23

Today in class I started woking on my lamp in Adobe. I started out with trying to generate my image with AI but I was not getting the results that I wanted. So instead I used the pen tool and drew out my design. To ensure that my drawing was similar to my sketch I used my sketch as a template layer. This was very helpful. In my design I used red to show what is on my cut though layer, and shades of green for my Raster etch layer. In conclusion I am proud of the work I completed today.

Today for homework I worked on sketching out my idea on a larger piece of paper. I chose my bottom drawing from the last class work because I liked how the hill looked. I focused on implementing more negative space into my sketched to give more space for light to flows though. I showed these spaces in orange. The main areas I focused on adding more negate space were around the green and in the rough to show slope. I also attached all the reference images I used below. In conclusion I am proud if my drawing and the work I have done so far.

In class today I worked on creating 2 thumbnail sketches for my lamp. Both of the sketches have a golf course and a golfer, but on the bottom sketch I tried to make the green look elevated. For this reason I like the bottom sketch more. I did this because I think makes the course look more 3d. I used the 2 reference images from last assignment and one for the golfer I have attached below. In conclusion I got a lot done today and I am proud of my work.

Sat, Sept 20 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-9-20

For my luminary lamp design I started my brainstorm process by thinking of things I enjoy doing and the idea of golf stood out to me. This will also make the lamp feel personal to me because of my passion for golf. I want to implement a golf course rapping around all four panels of my lamp. I think that this will look interesting because the light from the lamp paired with the golf course will resemble the sky while golfing. This idea will look realistic due to the use of negative and positive space on the lamp. In conclusion I am looking forward to this project and the things I will learn from it.

Today in class I made my final print, however I did have a few challenges. My first challenge on the laser cutter was my first raster etch. This is because I ran it at 50% power which made my image look dull. To combat this I re-ran it on the same pice of wood at 70% power to make the wood darker. I also had a problem with the cut through power. This is because the speed was too high and it didn’t cut all the way through. To combat this I ran it again with 100% power but 30% speed and this cut through the wood. In conclusion I got a lot of work done today and I am proud of my final draft.

Thur, Sept 18 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-9-18

Tonight for home work I did some finishing touches on my laser cutter project. I did a bit of work on increasing the contrast of the shark. I also added some more vector etch lines to make my work pop out. I highlighted these lines in pink to make them stand out more. I also added the mouth of the shark as vector cut layer as shown in red. In conclusion for homework tonight I made some finishing touches to make my work stand out more.

Mon, Sept 15 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-9-15

Today in class I worked on increasing the contrast of my image and laser cutting my image. On my first attempt the etching was not deep enough and the contrast was not high enough. This lead to it looking dull. On my second attempt I made the etching too powerful and it cut through my wood. In conclusion today I learned a lot about the laser cutter and power settings.

Mon, Sept 15 HW – Image and description of completed homework – HWDueDate 2025-9-15

Today for homework I removed more of the pink etch lines. This is because if there is too many that are close together they will just burn. I mainly focused on the googles and hat because they had the most amount of lines left. I also touched up some lines around the edges. In conclusion, I am happy with how my image and line work is coming out.

Thur, Sept 11 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-9-11

Today in class I worked on increasing the contrast of my image witch made all the shapes in my image stand out more. I also worked on cutting out the tail of my shark to make it look like it is behind the window. I also worked on making the thru cut and the etching lines. The etching lines in pink were challenging because I needed to remove a lot of them to make each line stand out more. In conclusion I did a lot and learned a lot during this class.

Thur, Sept 11 HW – Image and description of completed homework- HWDueDate 2025-9-11

Tonight for homework I watched 3 videos about the website and posting on it. These videos were quite helpful and I learned a lot from them. They also helped clear up a few questions I had about the website and posting on it. This is because I don’t have any experience with editing websites.

Tue, Sept 9 CW – Image and description of completed homework – CWDueDate 2025-9-9

Today we worked on tracing images, generating images, and working with the grey scale. This was a fun class because I have not used Adobe in a while. I learned how to generate images and how to convert these images to a grey scale and edit the contrast. It was fun to generate the images, but it was challenging to find one that I actually liked. In conclusion, I enjoyed this class and the things we got done.
